The Stranger beside Me plot
Ann Rule is a former cop who works at a helpline in Seattle. She also earns a living writing crime stories based on true events. She has a daughter, a nice life and a good friend, Ted Bundy. Ted is a handsome and intelligent charmer who has just been admitted to law school in Utah. Ann begins to delve into a series of brutal murders: in Utah and Seattle, women constantly disappear and are later found murdered. Soon the press is talking about the most enigmatic serial killer since Jack the Ripper. When it turns out that Ann is successful with her articles about the case, a publisher gives her the opportunity to develop her texts into a book. But as she receives more clues, it becomes increasingly clear that her boyfriend Ted is involved in the murders.
