The Magic of Ordinary Days plot
World War II has broken out and the world is on fire. The serious pastor's daughter Livy Dale lives in peaceful Colorado. She wants to become a historian, but sees her plans thwarted when she becomes pregnant by a soldier. He abandons her and her Puritan father forces her to marry Ray Singleton, a lonely farmer who lost his brother in the attack on Pearl Harbor. He is deadly shy, has no experience with women, but is very eager to start a family.
