The Rookie Cop plot
"CRIME IS TROUGH!"
The inexperienced police officer Clem Maitland advocates the use of dogs to identify perpetrators. This following the arrest of his friend Tom Hadley, who was identified by a witness as the perpetrator of a fur theft. Maitland doubts the eyewitness. Commander Hugh Thomas is not convinced of the usefulness of the animals and Hadley is taken into custody. The next day the thieves strike again, this time it concerns a money transport that is robbed in broad daylight. The gang kills an employee. Maitland has meanwhile been suspended, but manages to obtain a glove from the crime scene. As a result, he discovers the identity of one of the perpetrators.
