Nardo Denning steals a million dollars from an American bank and then flees to Mexico. Nardo wants to go into hiding in the jungle and he needs the help of a local guide. He finds that guide at rancher Ben Cameron. However, Nardo also encounters his former lover Margaret Fowler there. She is now Cameron's wife, but is about to leave him. Nardo wants to return to the United States with Margaret, but they run into trouble with a border guard. Nardo runs over him. Margaret is so shocked that she wants to return to the Cameron Ranch and escapes. Nardo follows her and they return to the Cameron Ranch together. Nardo flees into the mountains with the guide, Margaret and the loot, but partly due to the treacherous terrain, he becomes increasingly desperate and aggressive.
