The Man in the Road plot
"Would his captive mind betray his secret?"
The British Dr. James Paxton is a brilliant scientist who has created a new and secret formula. Communist spies, led by Dmitri Balinkev, closely monitor Paxton's activities in order to eventually steal his secret formula. Balinkev manages to kidnap Paxton, but because he won't just reveal the secret formula, Balinkev takes Paxton to Professor Cattrell's private clinic. The clinic physician and alcoholic Dr. Kelly, however, tells Paxton what they intend to do with him. Paxton manages to escape from the clinic and flees to London, where he meets the American Rhona Ellison. However, the Russian spies manage to find Paxton and bring him back to Cattrell's clinic.
