"THE SURPRISE SCREEN THRILL OF THE YEARS!"
Docker Johnny Barnes is in love with barmaid Kitty Tracy, who works in her father's saloon in the harbor. Johnny gets into a fight with corrupt politician Cassidy, who is also in love with Kitty. When Cassidy is found murdered at night, Johnny is the prime suspect and he is arrested. Johnny insists he was at Pier 7 that night to watch a tugboat repair. Kitty and the harbor priest Cameron find Frances, the wife of the real killer Monte March, who has escaped from Alcatraz. There is a threat of a fight between the two women and the priest also seems unable to escape the use of violence.
