Les Eaux Dormantes plot
Denis de Lespinière is a doctor. After a three-year stay in Cambodia, he returns to his parental home in the French province. He had once left to forget about Eva, because his parents were against him hanging out with her. Anonymously, he is made aware that his father has disappeared under mysterious circumstances. His mother, with whom he has a not very good relationship, is silent in all languages and his mentally handicapped sister doesn't make him any wiser either. The elderly couple who take care of the household act as if they know nothing. In a depressed mood he visits Eva again without realizing that his visit will be fatal for her. The servant, Fouchard, also dies. Slowly but surely Denis realizes who the perpetrator is, but then he is trapped.
