Grandeur et Décadence d'un Petit Commerce de Cinéma plot
Director Gaspard Bazin is working on a new feature film. He is still busy with the fundraising and the casting. He calls on Jean Almereyda, a one-time producer, who is now facing adversity, making it increasingly difficult to obtain the capital he needs for his operations. His wife Eurydice dreams of being a movie star. This is followed by a perverse contest between the two men, in which Almereyda is eager to please his wife, but is reluctant to ask for a role for Eurydice because of Bazin's reputation as an unrelenting seducer.
