"Murder in Pompeii. Voices in the night. Despair in the gutter. A phantasmagoria of fright!"
Writer and former drug addict Tim Brett is with his aunt in Italy when she is found dead in Pompeii. In her book of psalms he finds a map of Pompeii on which her place of death is indicated. Not giving the impression that she's working hard on the investigation, Tim decides to investigate her death.
