"A thrilling picturization of last season's outstanding mystery melodrama."

Actress Elsie Manning is engaged to Horace Barker. But when another admirer, the married James Nichols, visits her apartment, becomes ill, and dies on the spot, Elsie faces considerable trouble. A scandal must be avoided. An acquaintance comes to her aid by calling a doctor friend. But that same evening, a certain Dr. Gruelle arrives at Elsie's door with a shocking story. James Nichols died not of a heart attack, but of poisoning.
