Typical Martin Lawrence film with its typical often bland and childish humor. Joy Bryant was a hottie in this film and then you have already had the positive about this film.

Did Martin Lawrence ever make a good movie?

Funny, I didn't think this was a typical Martin Lawrence movie. Sure, the lame jokes are back (with the inevitable fart jokes, of course) but we also see a serious side of Lawrence that we don't often see. I found it very pleasant to watch and as far as I'm concerned he tries something non-comedy like for once.

The story is otherwise not very interesting and is also packed with the necessary clichés, moreover it becomes much too sentimental at the (extremely predictable) end with the accompanying life lesson as a bonus. However, it never really gets boring.

Entertaining comedy that is easy to look at but has little else to offer.

A very bland comedy, in which Martin Lawrence and his friends mainly enjoy being irritating and annoying. Especially Cedric the Entertainer is really a thorn in the side and can join the list of the most annoying actors of all time.

Fortunately, there are still James Earl Jones and Michael Clarke Duncan, who still play nice roles. The story itself is quite standard and predictable and except for the parents, almost every character lacks any kind of credibility.

In short, not really fun. Poorly written characters, weak jokes and a predictable, poorly written script ensures that this Meet the Parents-esque clone is never really fun.
