An original film, this Dewey Cox and the good intentions are highly appreciated by me. The film is sometimes funny, but sometimes too corny. A bit of the kind of humor that really worked well as 'inside jokes' with the makers, but which are not always funny on film.

The parody of the rise and fall and the music biographies, however, is well received and is really very witty. In that respect, as a half-successful good intention, it is a success and the film would actually deserve a somewhat larger audience. Reilly also fits the role well. Fairly nice, but won't put the DVD back in the player anytime soon.

you don't have to be a Sherlock Holmes to see the comparison with Walk the Line (2005), but by sometimes broadening the story follow, it remains a unique film, luckily it won't be a rock n roll version of scary movie

The humor is so good that it's difficult to keep it up, especially if the playing time is two hours, but they are very strong.

You don't expect this kind of humor from fellow writer Judd Apatow , who usually dutifully ventures into romantic comedies.

It is also nowhere very cheap, by fart jokes or id, with one exception.

And nice and rude about nudity . unfortunately not Jenna Fischer, what a beautiful woman that is .

And on top of that the music is only meant for this film , it certainly sounds good . What is to be appreciated .

And the ending was really the icing on the cake with some lovely cameos.

big fat nice enough, 4 *.

Director Jake Kasdan co-wrote the screenplay for this parody and musical biography with Judd Apatow. In the first instance, the film gets the mustard from Walk the Line (2005). The film that tells the serious tale of Johnny Cash and had appeared two years earlier.

If you are familiar with the work of Kasdan or Apatow, the result is not difficult to estimate. Walk Hard is a spoof that bets on a lot, fast, jumpy and bizarre. Nice? Sometimes. Sometimes not. It takes a while for the movie to build up enough credit (choose a direction of its own that leads away from Johnny Cash) to drop the jokes. And then it's funny. The running gags, in particular, logically only do well after a while. The references to the eccentric behavior of famous pop stars are also very successful. Also nice are the songs, which were written especially for the film and are full of ironic, nonsensical and ambiguous lyrics.

The lead role is for John C. Reilly. He successfully takes on the role of Dewey Cox, displaying a kind of naive vulnerability that lends his egocentric character a certain amount of sympathy. Reilly carries the film. The other roles are not very distinctive. The most fun are the short-playing characters. The passers-by. Of course, guest appearances by a number of actors who are on Apatow's friends list should not be missed. Paul Rudd, Jonah Hill, Jack Black. From that work. More a matter of namedropping than really intriguing additions that greatly influence the appearance of the film.

At the end of the film there is resignation. Walk Hard has some fun moments and good jokes. The songs are very nicely embedded in lyrical nonsense. Yet. Walk Hard is a film of moments that are not overly captivating across the board. The movie is just too jumpy for that.
