Erwin Pelzig (Frank-Markus Barwasser) helps his neighbor, driver and father of seven children, Johann Griesmaier (Peter Lohmeyer) from the bank into the ditch. As a result, he ends up in hospital. He feels so guilty that as long as his neighbor can't work, he will take over his job so that his neighbor doesn't lose the job. With all its consequences.
