In a small village, the collective farm is the hub of life. Karel is the truck driver of the farm together with the village idiot Otík. Karel always protects Otík, but after some very wrong actions by Otík it is decided to fire him and send him to Prague. However, it turns out that Otík has unwittingly been very important to the village.
