A troubled actor takes a job running a theater workshop in prison to make ends meet. Surprised by the prisoners' performances, he decides to stage a play with them on the stage of a real theater. This is the start of a special adventure. Inspired by a true story.

Étienne Carboni [Kad Merad] is a retired actor who now earns his living by giving workshops and projects. One of those projects concerns the direction of a stage performance by detainees. After a rocky start, he discovers hidden talents in his cast and dares to let them play in 'Waiting for Godot'. That is accompanied by the peaks and troughs that you expect in this type of feel-good film, but the good acting of the cast makes you forgive the predictability. And the final twist is a surprise, unless you're familiar with the true story (which, incidentally, took place in Sweden) on which this is based.

Watched this true movie once and it was not wrong. The film was also funny at times, it certainly wasn't boring.
The cast did a great job and came across convinced. Another surprise ending.
