Khaled is a young Syrian refugee who has lost almost his entire family. He no longer has high expectations for his life. Coincidentally, he ends up on a coal ship among stowaways in the harbor of Helsinki. He then struggles to find shelter in the streets of the Finnish capital. Wikström is a former traveling salesman in his fifties who mainly sold shirts and ties for men. He has abandoned his wife, who is an alcoholic. Wikström now runs a restaurant and enjoys a game of poker. The two men cross paths and eventually become friends.
