I confess, I can secretly appreciate this particularly over the top stuff with bizarre characters. You don't see these kinds of comedies very often anymore and Happy Madison obviously made it big from the late 90's to the early 10's.
In the beginning of the film it takes some getting used to the quite over the top characters, but at a certain point the tone of the film becomes more stable (Missy becomes less annoying) and you can enjoy the silly humor.
It is another typical Sandler flick (this time without him), but we already know the plot or type of film from previous films. Nothing special, but the summer location remains infectious to look at.
Don't expect realism, because then you could be annoyed from start to finish. In any case, you have to love it and I have the dark brown suspicion that the film will not score highly.

It's nice to see Lauren Lapkus shine in a role that's just right for her.
Imagine if they had chosen Melissa McCarthy , the fun would wear off faster anyway .

maybe it's because i'm not sober ,( and i wasn't expecting much either ) but i thought it was a feel good movie with a capital F
The joke density is not very big , but it looked nice .
And it could have been more crude ( but that is no longer allowed in these SJW times ) in a Happy Madison you expect a few incorrect jokes .

Could be worse. The story can be mapped out from A to Z, so the film has to rely on the decoration. And that is simply not enough. The atmosphere is okay, the fact that they choose to let this be with colleagues during a working week gives it a slightly different dimension and the summer sun in the whole film feels great. But especially in the beginning, that actress is simply annoying. That she also has to come across that way may be the point, but as a viewer I don't want to feel that irritation somewhere. A good actress or actress can do something with that - think Adam Sandler in Uncut Germs, an asshole but somehow sympathetic. With that, the film simply failed to touch me and even irritated me a bit in the beginning. But on the whole this looked easy and a single joke also succeeded. 2.5*.
