The Wackiest Ship in the Army plot

"You'll crack your timbers when you see how the Navy sticks the Army sad sacks with the crumbiest ship afloat!"

Lieutenant Rip Crandall is put in command of the ship with the most insane crew in existence. What nobody knows, not even Crandall, is that the ship is on a very important secret mission in waters under the control of the Japanese. Their mission will save 100 lives if successful, but they'll have to get there in one piece.
