The Twelve Chairs plot
"A wild and hilarious chase for a fortune in jewels."
The mother-in-law of Ippolit Vorobyaninov (Ron Moody) tells him on her deathbed that, just before the revolution, she hid her precious jewels in one of her twelve dining room chairs. Ostap Bender (Frank Langella) steals this secret from Vorobyaninov and starts a search with him for the chairs, which became state property after the revolution and then disappeared. Meanwhile, Father Fyodor (Dom DeLuise), who learned the secret while administering the last rite, is also looking for the treasure.
