The Little Clown plot
Pat, an orphan born and raised in the circus, is the protégé of Toto the clown, who hopes to marry her. In a southern town, Pat meets Dick Beverly, the son of an aristocratic family, who joins the circus as a trick rider after a falling out with his parents, and the two fall in love. Although she is eventually accepted by the Beverlys, she must learn the social graces of their house.
