"A beast of a comedy."
Edward Wallace used to be a celebrated poet, but now he makes his living as a theater critic. But he also lost that job. The imposing, but coarse-mouthed and cynical man, who drinks liters of whiskey every day, accidentally meets a niece, Jane. She asks him to stay at the estate of his old friend Lord Logan for a few months and take a good look at it. Wallace soon discovers why. Lord Logan's fifteen-year-old son, David, turns out to be a rather strange boy...
