A doctor who is more or less obsessed with the psyche of criminals wants to find out the psychological makeup of criminals at all costs by becoming one himself.

Robinson seems perfect for the role of a clinical scientist who wants to understand the psyche of criminal behavior and he is prepared to go very far to find out.

Yet the film never gets as serious as you would expect ( especially if you have seen the ending ) and the film retains a certain lightness .
