In a small Massachusetts town, the housekeeper of a wealthy family is accidentally kidnapped because the kidnappers mistake her for the lady of the house. The housekeeper can scratch another cry for help on the back of her watch and fasten it to the collar of a passing stray cat. Patti (Ricci) finds the clue and with the help of clumsy cop Kelso (Doug) they try to find the culprits.
