Maya [Jennifer Lopez] is a hard-working forty-something who is disillusioned when the expected promotion at the department store where she has worked for 15 passes her by. After a collision with her new manager Arthur, Maya decides to call it a day, even though she knows it will be difficult to build a new career without the right diplomas. After a conversation with her best friend Joan [Leah Remini], Joan's son Dilly [Dalton Harrod] secretly creates a fake profile for Maya so that she can work as a consultant at a renowned cosmetics company. An excellent opportunity, but it is based on a lie. Maya gets the chance to prove herself in an internal competition with the much younger daughter of the owner Zoe [Vanessa Hudgens]. The role of the struggling mother who gets a chance to better her life fits Lopez like a glove, even though the plot twists are a bit far-fetched and the ending is quite predictable. It helps that Lopez's best friend Leah Remini plays the role of... her best friend. The genuine relaxed chemistry between the two makes this a pleasure to sit through.

More or less formulaic film with a convulsive twist somewhere halfway through. Apart from that, the film is now following well-trodden paths. Not bad, but that's all. And I'm afraid I'll never become a fan of J.Lo.

Like any romantic comedy, very predictable. And cliché. But hey, that's fine for a Monday evening.

By the way, everyone is talking about Jlo, I found her very disappointing. In her video clips she always knows how to work and shop her "full" body well, but here it is really clear that she is actually quite plump and has a large behind. Nevertheless, she still looks good for her age, of course.

But I thought Hudgens stood out, Jesus, what a beautiful girl. And Remini did a good job too, as always, I really laughed at her.
