Bumbling thieves Egisto and Dalmazio are only released from prison when they quickly reunite and team up with their much more intelligent uncle and their dead partner's alleged daughter, Susanna - a cunning wench. Together they attempt a series of daring thefts and they succeed, thanks more to their perseverance than their skill level. As a foursome, however, they make futile attempts to outsmart each other.
