Ron Goossens, Low Budget Stuntman plot

Ron Goossens barely survives a drunken action in a spectacular way. When bartender and best friend Peter puts the amateur stunt video online, it goes viral. An impresario sees a gap in the market; he wants to hire Ron Goossens as a low-budget stuntman. Ron is far from charmed by this. Until he finds out that his wife Angela, the love of his life, has cheated on pretty much the entire village. Despite everything, Ron doesn't want to lose her and Angela gives the seemingly impossible ultimatum. If he manages to get the Netherlands' most successful actress into bed, she will stay with him.

Kei-lame cameos.

When it turns out that Ron's girlfriend has been 'barked' by all his bar mates, the alcoholic stuntman's turnips are done. Kei-lamb or not. However, his wife threatens to leave him, instead of the other way around. Unless he manages to get the beautiful film actress Bo Maerten into bed. These 4 sentences perfectly encompass the underpants level of Ron Goossens, Low-budget Stuntman. A crazy film that could make you 'weary' because of the countless cameos and supporting roles: Fresku, Pieter Bouwman, Dick Maas, Thomas Acda, Michiel Romeyn, Bonnie St. Claire, Eddy Terstall, Mimoun Oaïssa, Martin Koolhoven and so on. by means of. The supporting role of Chris Zegers as an addicted extra is perhaps the most fun.

There is not much to say about the latest film from the men behind New Kids, except that it is very flat and bland but also very funny. The pee and poo humor must lie to you. No tender souls wanted here. Ron doesn't just stunt in random films, no, they are pictures that refer to shocking events in the country. Tasteful? No, but the self-mockery and inventive smut keep it manageable, although sometimes people go over the edge. Swearing at cancer (something that happened frequently during the promos) remains painfully unpleasant. Ironic or not. What's fun? Dennie Christian performing Stay Another Day from the creepy East 17. Humour.

***½

funny.

A bit on the level of the other films by Haars and van der Kuil. They have a fairly consistent style, the humor is recognizable and the structure of their films does not differ too much. That makes me want to sit down for a while.

It may not be New Kids, but the setting and characters are smoothly in line. The language has its charm and the often unpolitically correct jokes are also an added value. When they expand their humor to word games (the drink, the movie titles) it gets a bit bland, on the other hand there are enough cameos from famous Dutch people who don't mind poking fun at themselves. Always fun.

The film doesn't last too long and that's a good thing, because it's the type of humor that you have seen again after a while. I saw kos draw a comparison with Dirty Mind, in terms of plot there are indeed similarities, but the film is just a bit better put together. Nothing to the detriment of Ron Goossen, this is just a fun, smooth comedy with enough humor in it and which fits perfectly into the work of Haars and van der Kuil.

I think they can go on like this for a while.

3.5*

A downright lazy comedy from the makers of New Kids about a hopeless, dead drunk, incompetent stuntman [Tim Haars] who is offered a contract through impresario [Michael Romeyn] and falls hopelessly in love with Bo Maerten. Men are bungling drunks, all women are whores in this comedy that takes new depths of tackiness. And no, that's not really a recommendation. The crappy story is just an excuse for a parade of lame cameos and musical interludes with the inevitable Dennie Christian. A complete waste of time.
