Bro's before Ho's plot

Blowing, drinking and arranging as many chicks as possible. That is the life of video store employee Max (Tim Haars) and his adopted brother Jules (Daniël Arends), also best friend. Together they have a pact: they never want a relationship because that is too much bullshit. They live the life every man dreams of, until they both fall in love with Anna (Sylvia Hoeks).

Bro's Before Ho's

Nice movie to watch once. Bro's Before Ho's has questionable acting, an uninspired script (it's almost plagiarism), and crude and sometimes painfully unfunny humor. But in itself it works, as long as you watch the film with the right attitude. Don't expect too much and enjoy Sylvia Hoeks, that's my advice.

Good.

Great film full of flat humor, but at the same time that kind of flat emptiness can still be reconciled with reality. Although the starting point of course ensures a predictable course, this does not disturb. There are a number of successful characters in the film and I really like the interaction between Tim Haars and Sylvia Hoeks. Towards the end, how could it be otherwise, it falters a bit, but with the limited running time, the film hardly suffers from that.

3.5

After the breakdown of their parents' unhappy marriage, Max [Tim Haars] and his adoptive brother Jules [Daniël Arends] believe that they should never start a serious relationship with a woman. The title refers to their life motto and so the boys party and fuck happily until Max falls head over heels for Anna [Sylvia Hoeks]. Her falling prey to Jules is just one of the hurdles he must overcome before he can decide whether "Bro's" still go for "Ho's". A wafer-thin scenario that is an excuse for a series of adolescent, sometimes surprising and occasionally amusing jokes devised by the minds behind New Kids, who can be seen in small roles themselves. The result is not very high, but Haars and Van der Kuil do not lose any sleep over it.
