Three teenagers burn down a house in the neighborhood as a joke. They shift the blame to a fictitious person for whom they invent the name Ricky Stanicky. 20 years later, they still use this fabrication for every difficult situation. When their wives want to meet Ricky, the men hire an actor.

I thought it started poorly and was afraid that it would end in a failing grade. But as the movie progresses it started to get better. The stiff acting got better as did the jokes and the story. I don't expect this to ultimately score higher than a 5.8, but I had a great time with it.

Reasonable film in which three friends have been using a non-existent friend as an excuse for years. A nice premise that results in a fairly typical Farrelly film (with quite a bit of vulgar humor, of course). John Cena makes a fool of himself in the title role. Certainly entertaining, but it goes on a bit too long towards the end.

The story was original. 3 friends have had a fictional friend named Ricky Stanicky since childhood who they can blame for years, but also sometimes go to when they get tired of their daily routine. Their friends, family and colleagues have never met Ricky until there is no way back for the group of friends. They decide to hire an 'actor' they met in a casino and give him a Bible with all the info about the so-called Ricky. All the stories they ever told about him are in that Bible. But this doesn't go entirely according to plan, because Ricky absolutely loves his new life and is also offered a job at the same company where the men work. The group of men don't like this, but can they still get rid of Stanicky? And do they ultimately want that?
As said, nice story with an occasional funny joke. The film is enjoyable, but don't expect too much from it. John Cena does a nice job as Stanicky and indeed makes quite a fool of himself sometimes, haha.

Nice comedy. The story is not too interesting, but John Cena is very funny and there are quite a few funny jokes that gave me a good laugh. Sometimes very flat and absurd, but above all hilarious. Wonderful, that's how a comedy should be. I've noticed John Cena before in other movies and I just think he's funny. I want more movies like this with him. Nice man.
