Pranchiyettan and the Saint plot

Pranchiyettan comes from a wealthy family that trades in rice. However, he is not educated himself and wonders how people who are less wealthy that he can still be respected by others. He hopes to be accepted by society and gets help from his friends. He hates his nickname 'Arippranchi', which has to do with the rice trade. To get rid of the nickname, he opens a jewelry store.
