Pellegrini d'Amore plot
A countess rents a seaside villa with the help of a fake professor and turns it into a gambling den. During the war, the villa was the residence of a German commander and later of an American one. Both commanders were fascinated by the portrait of a beautiful woman that hung in the villa. After the war, the two officers return, hoping to meet that woman. The Countess introduces them to a girl she has paid to take her place. The two men do everything they can to get her as their betrothed, which eventually leads to a violent fight. They are both knocked unconscious. When they regain consciousness elsewhere, the Countess blackmails them, telling them both that they killed their rival.
