På Villspor plot
Disorganized, thirty-year-old Emilie feels like the world is against her. She is a single mother and also broke. Her ex-husband has moved on and wants their daughter to live with him full-time. After an accident in her apartment, Emilie is forced to move in with her athletic, wealthy brother. However, his brother gives Emilie an ultimatum: if she wants to continue living with her brother, she has to compete with him in the Birken, a 54 km ski race. Emilie has never skied before, but what starts as a nightmare gradually gives her a sense of fulfillment and hope for the future. Can Emilie complete the Birken race and prove to herself and the world that she is more than a loser?
