Okno v Parizh plot

Nikolai feels out of place as a music teacher at the St. Petersburg trade school. He rents an apartment with a bunch of alcoholics who think they can play. The previous occupant of the apartment died a year ago, but in the sealed room they find her cat who has not lost any weight. When they see the old woman at night who comes to get her cat, they find out that behind the wardrobe is a magical window, which opens onto the roofs of Paris.
