My Wife's Relatives plot
Joe Higgins, an employee of a prosperous candy factory, is tasked by his pompous boss Ellis to break the romance between Ellis's son Bill and Joe's daughter Jean. Joe refuses, immediately quits his job and starts his own candy company. It turns out to be an unsuccessful venture until Joe's wife Lil loses her precious diamond ring in a consignment of candy and offers a $5,000 reward to the lucky person who recovers the ring.
