Funny movie. Nice over the top story but very well put together. Kim Bassinger is beautiful to watch and plays her part very nicely. Akroyd is just a bit too exaggerated in my opinion. But that shouldn't spoil the fun. Especially in the beginning when she is just on earth is very funny.

80s comedy, which may not have withstood the now-elapsed time as well as some of its contemporaries and genre contemporaries.
Way-over-the-top, but funny to see or hear all those old elements (clothing, dance, music, cars) from those years again.
SFX threaten to inadvertently become part of the humor of this comedy due to their datedness.
Nevertheless, a pleasant piece of viewing pleasure, pleasant to see again.

Reasonable film about an alien who needs a scientist from Earth to save her planet. A nonsensical story in which the title completely covers the load. Some lame fish-out-of-water humor. Kim Basinger is well cast and as a whole it is entertaining enough for a narrow 3.0 stars. Also nice to see a young Alyson Hannigan and Juliette Lewis here.
