Not for me. Couldn't do much with the drama/comedy combination here. Especially because in the beginning the wry situation is laughed away (flatly), but somewhere in the second half the tone suddenly becomes much more serious. The film barks at times (a little blackish comic at times) but doesn't really bite anywhere. I found the characters made and not very believable and at a certain point I started to long for the end.

Romantic girl who suffers from her obesity and the lack of understanding within her environment and even within the shaky family in which she lives.
Toni Collette puts down a good interpretation in this film that tries to mix drama and humor in a good balance and largely succeeds in doing so, but which was disturbed by the caricatural representation of several characters, the girlfriends for example.
A special role is reserved for Bill Hunter, who does a great job of portraying his unbalanced, irresponsible and corrupt character.
