A children's film where you as a family can not fall too much wrong. With the proven recipe of animals going crazy. Carrey knows what to do with the slapstick moments. The computer animation is decent, although visible. Real animals are more fun. The Christmas message in the film can be guessed, but fortunately it remains light. Very good and corny yes, but it wasn't too annoying. So, decent entertainment.

Thom Popper [Jim Carrey] wants nothing more than to be a partner at Franklin, Reader & Yates. To do that, however, he must swindle the Tavern on the Green restaurant, the only privately owned property in Central Park, from Gundy [Angela Lansbury]'s Selma. That task is made even more difficult when he discovers that his missing father has left him something special: a number of penguins! For someone with the comedic talent of Jim Carrey, it is downright humiliating that he has to be pooped by penguins in this good, but above all bland comedy drama in which the career animal Thom Popper naturally changes into the ideal father and husband. Tasteless schmaltz would have gone down completely without Carrey.
