"He's the biggest thing to hit Japan since Godzilla!"
Failed star baseball player Jack Eliott is sold to a Japanese team, the Chiunichi Dragons. Jack has serious doubts about his new 'career', and when he arrives in Japan he mainly criticizes the way baseball is experienced there. After a rough start, with club management issues, Jack begins to adapt more and falls in love with his Japanese teacher. Jack appears to add value to the team through the American approach to baseball and he learns values and standards from them.
