Movers & Shakers plot

"A new comedy about a movie that doesn't get made and the people who don't make it."

Joe Mulholland (Walter Matthau) is the production chief of a Hollywood studio. He promises to a friend on his deathbed to film the bestseller "Love in Sex", a project he previously tried to get off the ground. Joe enlists the help of depressed screenwriter Herb Derman (Charles Grodin) and unconventional director Sid Spokane (Bill Macy) to make the film, but they can't pull it off. Meanwhile, Herb is also distracted by his personal love life.
