Ian Folivor is a depressed recluse in his thirties. After a failed suicide attempt, he discovers a talking fungus growing on the wall of his filthy bathroom. The fungus begins to advise Ian on how to improve his life situation. It works, and Ian gets in touch with his attractive neighbor. Suddenly, however, Ian also begins to receive strange messages from his old, broken TV set.
