Mothers&Daughters plot

Three very different women each have a complex relationship with their mothers, and they all unknowingly approach a pivotal moment in their lives. For example, a middle-aged woman must hear from her daughter that her husband has exchanged her for a younger one. Meanwhile, an adopted young woman who is unexpectedly pregnant receives maternal support from a complete stranger. And then there's a celebrated romance novelist who has a very difficult relationship with her embittered, reproachful daughter.
