Particularly impressed with Kristy McNichol, she knows how to portray her character so lifelike that as a viewer you don't have to make any effort to empathize with her role. Tatum O'Neal was also a nice co-star and the film exudes a wonderful summer atmosphere at times.

Light-hearted situations are interspersed with serious elements and Little Darlings succeeds without difficulty.

The film is not as cheesy as you might expect at first.

Apparently there will be a remake of this (Totally unnecessary!) But no dates have been announced on IMDB yet.

I need to see more of Kristy McNichol, the whole movie I thought she looked familiar but I had no idea from what, later I found out I knew her from the sitcom Empty Nest.

This film deserves 3.5 without a doubt.

Good film in which two girls make a bet who will lose her virginity first. Despite this fact and the setting (a summer camp), the film never becomes vulgar. Maybe a bit unbalanced in tone, but a nice scene like the food fight and some sincere-looking scenes towards the end are just right. It also helps that the two young protagonists do an excellent job.

One of the many summer camp movies from that time. Although it revolves around sex, this is not of the raunchy comedy type but is about coming of age drama. Although there are also some funny scenes incorporated. Still, I am a bit impressed by the tasteful way in which the material has been handled. Perhaps also typical 'role breaking' post-feminist that it concerns young girls who go on a man hunt. I think the performances of Tatom O'Neal and Kristy McNIchol are top notch. I think antagonist Krist Errickson is moving more towards overacting, but it could also be due to her one-dimensional role and lines.

The soundtrack is also tasteful. It actually contains a song by John Lennon (Oh My Love), released in a movie a few months before he was killed. And then there is also the presence of Matt Dillon in the role of Randy: 16 years old and with long hair, I had not recognized him at all at first. Nice bonus.
