The dowdy housewife Katherine "Kitty" Brown is deeply devoted to her self-centered husband Bob, but is still divorcing him when his mistress "Bouccy" Bouccicault shows up at their house. Bob was fed up with Kitty's lack of passion, her looks, their children and was in trouble with himself. From the divorce, the disillusioned Kitty takes a critical look at herself and dresses in the latest fashion and learns manners. Three years after their divorce, Bob is invited to the home of wealthy Madge Livingston, where his new girlfriend Diana lives, who is unhappy with their relationship. Madge throws a party and Kitty turns out to be invited too, but Bob doesn't recognize his now sexy ex-wife.
