Les Vignes du Seigneur plot
For ten years, Gisèle has been the mistress of the Count Hubert de Kardec. Henri, who he hasn't seen for eighteen months, returns and says he has recovered from his alcohol addiction. He swears it to everyone: to his friend Hubert, to his mistress, Gisèle, to Gisèle's sister, Yvonne, and the bossy Madame Bourgeon, the mother of the last two young ladies. However, while shopping in a department store, he confides to Gisèle that he started drinking to forget his love for her.
