La Venganza de Don Mendo plot
Don Nuño Manso de Jarama has a daughter, Magdalena, who will marry Pero, the Duke of Toro. The girl loves Don Mendo, a poor nobleman, who occasionally visits her, but she is attracted by Pero's wealth. One day the latter catches Don Mendo in the presence of Magdalena and in order not to betray her, the man says that he is a thief, whereupon he is locked up in prison. However, he is freed by Marquis de Moncada and vows revenge.
