The wise and amiable piano teacher Polly Jasper becomes involved with a number of shady music publishers. Polly has an affair with music lover and dentist Henry Talbot, but it's not as romantic as she'd like. Polly tries to involve her roommate Eileen Hasbrook, Eileen's fiancé Jimmy and Henry in her conflict over the rights to the song "Kansas City Kitty". Oscar Lee claims that this song was stolen from his 'Minnesota Minnie'. But is 'Minnesota Minnie' really by Lee?
