After Hap Smith, a comedian who performs in nightcubs, and his co-star Chick Allen split, Hap teams up with Betsy Carter to put on a new show, where he dresses up as a soldier and jokes about the military. His ex-partner Chick Allen, meanwhile, has joined the military and needs Hap's help for a show he's hosting at his barracks.
