Halloweed plot
"He who has the Weed, has the power."
Fleeing embarrassment from their serial killer father, Trent Modine and his half-brother Joey look for a new place to live. They find refuge in the small town of Mooseheart. Joey in particular quickly becomes known as a stoner who constantly tells stories about the Candy Corn Killer. It doesn't take long before the town starts to get wind of the brothers' background and when there are actually murders to be committed in Mooseheart, it's up to the brothers to work their way out of this difficult situation.

The childish pun of the title at least indicates the level of this film, which unfortunately certainly falls short in the area of humor. Nevertheless, director LazRael Lison has managed to drum up a number of notable names, although Simon Rex and Danny Trejo certainly did not make the best choices around that period. Halloweed is a stoner comedy through and through with a number of massacres in between, which unfortunately do not get much further than off-screen hacking and a murderer in a strange costume. The acting is convincing and the cast members clearly enjoy it, but the script is completely uninspired and the humor regarding weed considerably gets in the way of the content. Halloweed is an empty film that leaves the viewer with an empty feeling.
