Gideon plot

"Gideon Dobbs is young, simple-minded man who checks into a retirement home where he finds the residents have lost their lust for life. Through his innocence he changes their lives and teaches them that each day is a precious gift."

The residents of the Lakeview Nursing Home are babbled to the end of their lives with a lot of discontent on their minds. Former chef Leo Barnes thinks the food is inedible, ex-boxer Harland Greer wants to put on the gloves one more time, former philosophy professor Addison Sinclair can't discuss the meaning of life with anyone and artist Elly Morton is no longer allowed to paint what she wants. Then one day they are joined by Gideon Oliver Dobbs. Gideon is younger than the rest but mentally retarded. His way of life brings a breath of fresh air through Lakeview.
