Nice calm structure... the beginning of the film is quite unclear... but as the film progresses everything is worked out in detail...

I thought this film was clear enough... and it seemed very realistic... these kinds of situations certainly happen in real life... nothing to complain about... just a good film!

Give it just under 4... because the beginning was a little less...

3.5

Still highly recommended!!

Carefully developed drama - framed by the question of what the millennium, Simenon, cycle paths and Diana have to do with each other. It is told a bit long-winded, 45 minutes is really a bit on the long side.

I find Bill Nighy and Emily Blunt in particular acting a bit understated, but it fits in with the atmosphere that the entire film evokes, the story remains a bit distant. Perhaps that is the 'typical English' approach, perhaps it is also due to the structure of the story - after all, the writer, Sneath, dictates it to his typist.

I'm a fan of Bill Nighy, who usually seems a bit hypocritical. This does not come into its own in this television film with a star cast, because the difficult relationship between father and daughter (Emily Blunt) is not very suitable for this. From the background, the always reliable Miranda Richardson secretly makes off with the film. A solid BBC drama that probably won't stick with me for long.
