Two inexperienced filmmakers, Tyler and Sam, set out to create an independent horror film while documenting the travails behind the scenes. After writing a screenplay, collecting production equipment and securing the perfect location, the directors seem to have found gold in casting the perfect actor, Tom Morris, to play their film's psychopathic antagonist. The trio travels to the small, isolated California town of Frazier Park to fulfill their dream. But then Tom starts to put his own spin on the project...
